By Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten
Director: Lanie & Tony Shannon
Producer & Stage Manager: April Presley
Towne Centre Theatre is going on an onstage cross county road trip with its next production, Mama Won't Fly and you invited to tag along. An outrageously hilarious race against the clock, Savannah Sprunt Fairchild Hoenycutt agrees to get her feisty mother, Norleen, all the way from Alabama to California in time for her brother's wedding. Along for the ride is the bubbly over-eager bride-to-be. Every conceivable -and inconceivable- mishap there could be happens, including the theft of their car, a near-fatal accident at an underwear museum, a mad dash across the desert in a hijacked 18-wheeler and an unsavory detour to Las Vegas that ends in a brawl with an ordained showgirl minister. Leading the cast are Adele Akin as Norleen, Annie Rice as Savannah and Krislyn Melson as Hayley. The remaining 21 quirky, eccentric characters are played by Eric Butler, Eric Crawford, Victoria Crawford, Sara Dhom and Molly Weinberg.

TCT continues its commitment to local charities. With this production, TCT is partnering with United Way of Williamson County for their "Stuff the Bus" campaign. The wealthiest county in Tennessee, it is a common misconception that Williamson County is without poverty. There are actually many parents who are unable to provide the basic school supplies their children need in order to be effective and excel in learning. Donations of basic school supplies can have a profound impact on these families. A donation bin will be located in the lobby to collect school supplies for the upcoming school year. Particularly needed are 3-ring binders, composition books, highlighters and 3x5 index cards.
